HOUGH ATHLETIC BOOSTER CLUB SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The mission of the HABC scholarship program is to financially assist outstanding student athletes who pursue post-secondary education. Scholarships are intended to encourage and recognize outstanding athletes at Hough High School, based on their academic success, dedication, leadership, and sportsmanship both on and off the field.
Two scholarships awarded to Hough Athletic Booster Club Member senior student-athletes annually.
1. Academic Scholarship - This scholarship recognizes the dedication and discipline required to excel both on the field and in the classroom. Embracing the holistic development of student athletes, this scholarship aims to empower the next generation of leaders who can thrive in diverse spheres of life.
2. Leadership Scholarship - This scholarship seeks individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities both on and off the field, showcasing their ability to inspire and motivate others. By recognizing the invaluable role of leadership in sports and beyond, this scholarship aims to foster a new generation of influential and socially responsible leaders.

2025 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
DEADLINE: April 28 2025
General HABC Scholarship requirements
- Students must be in good standing with, and eligible for graduation from Hough High School (HHS) at the end of the academic year.
- Students must be planning to attend post-secondary education immediately after graduation. An acceptance letter, in the student's name, from an accredited junior college, vocational school, university or college will serve as proof of continuing education.
- Students must have participated in at least one HHS Varsity sport during his or her senior year.
- Students must have represented HHS in a positive manner and consistently demonstrated sportsmanship in all athletic contests.
- Students must have a good disciplinary record with the school.
- Students who receive a full scholarship to attend their given school (academic, athletic, or other) are not eligible to receive and HABC scholarship. The term "Full Scholarship" refers to payment in full of tuition, room and board, books, and fees for a full degree program.
- Student must have a letter of recommendation from two of the following: an HHS coach, and HHS teacher, and/or a third general reference.
- Student and/or the parent(s) or guardian(s) must be members in good standing of the Hough Athletic Booster Club as of 4/01/25.
- Students must submit a completed application by April 29, 2024 and delivered to the Hough Athletic Director/Hough Front Office by Noon.
- Financial need is not a consideration.
- Incomplete applications or applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
